Thank a Teacher exists to celebrate the people who make a difference in education every day.

We believe that everyone working in education deserves to be recognised for the contribution they make, whether they are teachers, teaching assistants, support staff, school leaders, lunchtime supervisors, caretakers, administrators, early years practitioners, college staff or anyone else helping children and young people to learn and thrive.

Our campaign is open to everyone. Anyone can send a Thank a Teacher card, and anyone working in education can be recognised. We are committed to ensuring that the campaign is inclusive, accessible and welcoming to people from all backgrounds, communities and experiences.

We celebrate the diversity of the education workforce and the communities they serve. Through our communications, activities and campaigns, we aim to use inclusive language and imagery, improve accessibility and remove barriers to participation wherever possible.

A key part of our commitment is keeping Thank a Teacher free to use. We believe that recognising the people who make a difference in education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.

Thank a Teacher is delivered by the Teaching Awards Trust, which is committed to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion across all its campaigns and activities. We continue to review and improve our approach to ensure our work reflects, values and celebrates the diverse education community we serve.
