Thank you for a wonderful Thank a Teacher Day!

Every year on National Thank A Teacher Day we celebrate schools, colleges, teachers and support staff across the country. We also use this day to announce and celebrate the Silver Winners of the Pearson National Teaching Awards.

In 2021, National Thank a Teacher Day was on Wednesday 23rd June and the theme was ‘Stars’. Celebrities, leaders in educations, schools and pupils from across the UK came together to celebrate their teaching heroes, with support from Boris Johnson, David Walliams, Stephen Fry and more! Thank You Cards and Tributes

  • For Thank a Teacher Day 2021 Gruffalo illustrator, Axel Scheffler, designed a limited edition thank you e-card which was free to send to anyone working in a school. Axel’s design may no longer be in use, but you can still send a special personalised e-card for free all year round.
  • We also ran the celebrity judged #HowWillYouSayThankYou competitions which encouraged pupils to show off their skills for their teaching heroes. Watch the videos below to find out our lucky winners…

For National Thank a Teacher Day 2021 we ran a series of celebrity judged competitions which encouraged pupils to celebrate their teachers, with winners receiving a video from their judge and prizes including vouchers and even a limited edition Axel Scheffler artwork.
